03/09/2017

Stockland Green Hills $412 million redevelopment continues to make significant progress unveiling it’s second section. Stockland and construction partner Multiplex held a Topping Out event on the rooftop of the mall to celebrate the opening of the new section featuring returning and new retailers and starting on the 350 additional rooftop car parking spaces

The second phase of the centre will give new floor space about 1,450 additional sqm and will welcome 13 new and returning retailers including: Laser Clinics Australia, Darrell Lea Kards and Kandy, Bed Bath N Table, Habitania, Spendless Shoes, Laser Clinics Australia, Price Attack and Lowes. Redevelopment will double the size of the centre from around 33,000 square metres to around 74,000 square metres.

September and November will be interesting months for the Stockland since many unique details will be delivered to the centre. One of the features the mall will get next month are disability amenities, including an adult change room with an adjustable changing table and ceiling hoist to assist carers and people with disabilities. The parents will be happy to know the special parents’ room with private feeding rooms are being designed at the moment and are almost done, as well as play area for the kids and new premium bathrooms.

Quiet Room is a new concept dedicated to all the parents, carers and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and it will be completed in November.

Once the whole project is over, the mall will have many new retailers and over 210 specialty and kiosk retailers. You will be able to shop in David Jones, Target plus Big W, Coles and Woolworths, as well as in 12 mini-majors including Harris Scarfe, Best & Less and JB Hi-Fi

Dining and entertainment area will be stunning with a 7 screen 900 seat Cinema and excellent fresh food offer.

Pedestrian and vehicle access and safety will be upgraded with some changes undertaken to the surrounding road network, including two intersections on the New England Highway and traffic light intersections into the shopping centre.

As said in the beginning, one of the main parts of redevelopment is reconstruction of parking area that will have 1,500 new car parking bays, taking the total number to more than 3,100 spaces. Special Free Park Assist guidance system will be there as well, to make it easier for customers to find a vacant parking space.

The whole project, is planned to be finished in 27 months time, and is going through successful stages. If all goes well, the brand new shopping space will welcome visitors by the middle of 2018.
