20/10/2017

Southwest Sydney may, very soon, become a leading community of the city, having in mind all the facilities in it’s range. One of the latest ones is the pride of retail landlord Stockland, the huge Willowdale Shopping Centre, opened last week.

Major supermarket Coles dominates the 5000 square metre centre, but there are more specialty retailers waiting for the visitors and new residents to come and experience the new area in this part of Sydney. The mall will welcome you with brand new shaded parking and has it’s own medical centre. Barber shop and nail salon are there too, as well as numerous different dining options including Willow Thai Restaurant and The Shed Café.

Stockland, as a responsible landlord, has taken several green initiatives to improve energy efficiency in the new shopping centre. Over 370 solar panels have been installed on the roof which will generate electricity equivalent to the usage of 25 average homes in Australia. Other eco - friendly features include an electric car charging unit in the carpark, LED lighting fitted throughout the entire shopping centre and a 25,000 litre tank for the collection and storage of reusable rainwater that will be used for watering the gardens in the area.

Opening of Willowdale Shopping Centre created opportunities for more than 160 new employees in Western Sydney and the working places will continue to open up, as the development of the community goes on.

The new shopping mall is part of  growing community featuring over 1,800 new homes, sporting fields, a community centre and a retirement village. Customers can buy a 300 square metre lot and build new single storey, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house at Willowdale starting from $650,000.

Willowdale, is one of the most sought-after communities in NSW, with buyers drawn by its affordability, location and proximity to local employment centres, educational facilities and recreational areas, said Richard Rhydderch, Stockland general manager.

Willowdale is located near the new Leppington Train Station and $2 billion South West Rail Link with convenient access to the M5 and M7 motorways.

When done with shopping in the new mall, visitors will be able to enjoy their leisure time with family and friends in one of two districts and five local parks. The new Willowdale Park has many fun features: picnic and barbecue area, kick about area, huge playground for kids, flying foxes, a water play area, bike and scooter tracks and even a small amphitheater. The ones who enjoy working out will be able to attend free daily fitness classes at the same park, including boxing and yoga classes. The latest park opened in this area is Dogwood Park, dedicated to pets and their owners.
