  • TICK TOCK in Westfield Booragoon customer review by L. C. K.

    - Dec 14, 2021

I would have given a zero star rating but the system doesn't allow it. The lesson I learnt from TICK TOCK staff: for your watch battery replaced under guarantee, the receipt is not enough; you should ask them to write down clearly the period of the guarantee on the receipt otherwise you can be told that they are not interested in who said what. Initially I was told the guarantee would be 2 years but actually TICK TOCK covers only 18 months. My story is: for many years I have taken my and my husband's watches to TICK TOCK for battery replacements, we never checked how long the batteries lasted. As usual, I brought my Father-in-law's watch there and different from us, my Father-in-Law kept the receipt (dated 14/02/2020) and he noted that around October 2021 the watch has become slow. I had no time to bring it back to TICK TOCK until 13/12/2021. I was told that the guarantee for the battery was between 18 months and 2 years so it could not be replaced under guarantee as it was older than 18 months. My husband said the battery is less than 2 years so reluctantly the lady took the watch from us for the replacement. However we could not wait for the job to be carried out so we took the watch back and said we would return another day. The next day, I came back to TICK TOCK, one of two younger ladies in the kiosk served me. This lady refused to replace the battery because although it is under 2 years old, it is older than 18 months. I told her the man who replaced the battery at the first place said the guarantee was 2 years and the lady yesterday agreed to replace it. This lady said to me that she would not discuss with me about "the man said this and the lady said that" and she could not give me a "free" battery. I told her that I was not asking for a free battery but the one in the watch needs a replacement under guarantee. She then told me that she needed to have permission from the owner (the lady whom I talked with the day before) so I should come back in 10 minutes. When I returned, I was told that I would have to pay $10 for the replacement. I decided not to have anything with TICK TOCK so I took the watch back, I thanked her for the lesson I have learnt "I should not trust their words" and I told her that I would never come back to TICK TOCK.
