Brighton Central is a shopping center located at 525 Brighton Road, South Brighton, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The sculpture was originally made for a seafood restaurant in Kingston SE, but was relocated to Brighton Central in 2018 after the restaurant closed down. The sculpture is 17 meters long and weighs four tonnes. It is one of the many “big things” that can be found across Australia.
• The Mural - a colorful mural that covers the wall of the Brighton Central Bakery. The mural was painted by local artist Sarah Boese in 2019 and depicts various scenes and landmarks of South Brighton and its surroundings. The mural features the beach, the jetty, the sand dunes, the birds, the flowers and more. The mural is a tribute to the beauty and diversity of the area.
• The Community Garden - a small garden that is located next to the Brighton Central Pharmacy. The garden was established in 2017 by the pharmacy staff and volunteers from the community. The garden grows herbs, vegetables and flowers that are used for medicinal and educational purposes. The garden also provides a relaxing and inviting space for customers and visitors.
